Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists with patient examinations, procedures, and appliance adjustments
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatory rooms for each patient
• Take and develop dental X-rays and intraoral scans
• Educate patients on orthodontic care, oral hygiene, and treatment plans
• Maintain accurate patient records and digital charting
• Provide exceptional chairside support and ensure a comfortable patient experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
• Completion of a dental assisting program or equivalent on-the-job training
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Maryland dental radiography (X-ray) certification, or willing to obtain
• Orthodontic experience is a plus, but not required
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and sterilization best practices
• Skilled in digital radiography and dental practice management software
• Understanding of orthodontic appliances, brackets, wires, and aligners
• Strong attention to detail and infection control protocols
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach
