Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists with patient evaluations and treatment planning
• Prepare and sterilize orthodontic instruments and materials
• Educate patients on appliance care and oral hygiene
• Document patient records accurately and efficiently
• Coordinate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations

Qualifications

• Orthodontic certification required
• Prior experience as a dental assistant preferred
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid Maryland dental assistant license (if applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and appliance types
• Proficiency in dental software and record keeping
• Sterilization and infection control protocols
• Patient education techniques
• Basic dental assisting skills (e.g., chairside assistance, radiography support)
