Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists with patient evaluations and treatment planning
- Prepare and sterilize orthodontic instruments and materials
- Educate patients on appliance care and oral hygiene
- Document patient records accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations
Qualifications
- Orthodontic certification required
- Prior experience as a dental assistant preferred
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid Maryland dental assistant license (if applicable)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and appliance types
- Proficiency in dental software and record keeping
- Sterilization and infection control protocols
- Patient education techniques
- Basic dental assisting skills (e.g., chairside assistance, radiography support)
