Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor patients' vital signs before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Assist with nitrous oxide and IV sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Take and process panoramic X-rays for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Support the surgeon during wisdom tooth extractions and other oral surgeries
- Provide clear, compassionate post-operative instructions to patients and their families
- Prepare and maintain the treatment room, instruments, and supplies for each case
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a dental assistant, ideally in oral surgery or a surgical specialty
- Proficiency in monitoring vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse oximetry
- Experience with nitrous oxide and IV sedation
- Ability to take panoramic X-rays
- Knowledge of wisdom tooth surgery procedures and post-operative care
- Strong communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with the team
- Certification in dental assisting or radiology is a plus
