Roles & Responsibilities

• Independently scrub for a variety of surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, vascular, ophthalmic, urology, ENT, endoscopy, robotic, obstetrics, and gynecology cases
• Assist with operating room turnover and cleaning between cases
• Transport patients to and from the operating room as needed
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and supplies during surgeries
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe patient care
• Participate in on-call coverage to support 24/7 surgical needs

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience scrubbing cases in a hospital setting
• Active State of Hawaii license or ability to obtain upon acceptance
• BLS/BCLS certification required
• Ability to cover on-call rotations including evenings, nights, and weekends
• Must have Hawaii license by start of assignment
• Must arrive the Thursday before start for employee health appointment

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in surgical aseptic technique and sterile field management
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment for multiple specialties
• Strong understanding of OR protocols, patient safety, and infection control
• Ability to quickly adapt to variable shifts and changing department needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced OR
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient transport
