Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Provide compassionate, individualized care that promotes dignity and comfort
• Monitor and document vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff
• Support residents with mobility, transfers, and repositioning to ensure safety
• Engage residents in social activities and conversation to boost emotional well-being
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland
• Current BLS or CPR certification
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
• Must bring a state or federal issued ID and wear a photo badge at all times
• COVID-19 vaccination or documented religious/medical exemption required
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care best practices
• Skill in documenting care accurately and efficiently
• Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary care team
• Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• Empathy and patience when caring for elderly patients
