Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Waldorf, Maryland
Start Date: 08-23-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, includes 30-minute meal break
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure resident safety and comfort
- Monitor and report changes in residents' health and behavior to the nursing team
- Support residents during meals and document food and fluid intake
- Maintain a clean, safe, and dignified environment for every resident
- Collaborate with nurses and other caregivers to deliver personalized care plans
Qualifications
- Current Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive to residents' needs
- Ability to work flexible per diem shifts, including mornings
- Must meet facility vaccination requirements or have an approved exemption
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care techniques and safety protocols
- Strong communication skills to interact with residents, families, and staff
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced care environment
- Empathy and emotional resilience when caring for elderly residents
- Basic documentation and observation skills
