Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric patients including assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
• Support patient mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to nursing staff and supervisors
• Perform routine patient care tasks such as feeding assistance, vital signs collection, and documenting care accurately
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents
• Build trusting relationships with patients and their families, promoting dignity and respect

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the care team
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused with attention to detail

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic geriatric care
• Familiarity with infection prevention and proper hygiene protocols
• Ability to document care clearly and follow care plans
• Comfortable with basic vital signs monitoring and reporting
• Good interpersonal skills for interacting with residents, families, and staff
