Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and preventive care to keep patients' smiles healthy
• Assess patients' oral health and document findings accurately
• Take and develop dental X-rays with care and precision
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and individualized care plans
• Assist the dentist during procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience
• Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment
• Provide exceptional patient care and comfort, especially for patients with dental anxiety

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain one
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Dental hygiene degree from an accredited program
• Previous experience in a dental setting is a plus, but new graduates are welcome to apply
• Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, periodontal disease, and preventive treatments
• Proficiency with dental radiography and imaging equipment
• Excellent patient communication and education skills
• Comfortable using dental practice management software
• Detail-oriented with a focus on infection control and sterilization standards
• Ability to work collaboratively with dentists and dental assistants
