Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including periodontal charting and oral cancer screenings
• Deliver personalized prophylactic treatments, scaling and root planing, and fluoride applications
• Educate patients on effective oral hygiene techniques and preventive care practices
• Capture and interpret dental radiographs to support accurate diagnosis
• Assist the dentist during procedures while maintaining a sterile and safe environment
• Document patient care thoroughly in electronic health records

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia in good standing
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience in a dental practice is preferred but not required
• Excellent patient communication and chairside manner
• Ability to work collaboratively with the dental team

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and instruments
• Familiarity with digital radiography and dental practice software
• Understanding of infection control protocols and OSHA standards
• Great interpersonal and patient education skills
