Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist dental hygienists with patient preparation and instrument handling during procedures
• Sterilize and organize dental instruments and treatment rooms to ensure a clean, safe environment
• Document patient care details accurately and maintain up-to-date dental records
• Provide friendly, reassuring support to patients throughout their visit
• Support dental hygiene treatments by preparing materials and anticipating the provider's needs
• Communicate with patients about appointment flow and post-treatment care instructions

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification or state registration where applicable
• Previous experience assisting dental hygienists is a plus
• Proficiency with dental charting software and digital records
• Strong understanding of dental terminology and infection control protocols
• Valid CPR/BLS certification
• Ability to build rapport with patients and help them feel at ease

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques
• Familiarity with dental hygiene procedures and patient positioning
• Skill in electronic health records and scheduling systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
