Roles & Responsibilities

• Assure surgical case carts are complete by expertly interpreting preference cards and procuring the right instruments and supplies
• Communicate clearly with OR and sterile processing teams to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and emergent cases
• Review daily schedules with charge nurses and sterile processing coordinators to identify and resolve potential turnover delays
• Take ownership of the core phone, delegate duties, and coordinate breaks and lunches to keep the OR running smoothly
• Serve as a go-to resource for surgical services and sterile processing on all supply and instrumentation needs
• Partner with materials management to optimize supply utilization and ensure seamless operations

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (or military equivalent)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Willingness to work flexible 10-12 hour shifts and adapt to changing department needs

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (or equivalent military program)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong expertise in surgical technique and human anatomy
• Solid understanding of sterile processing and instrumentation
• Familiarity with surgical procedures and preference cards
• Commitment to patient safety and maintaining a safe OR environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced surgical setting
