Roles & Responsibilities

Perform focused pre-operative assessments for pediatric patients with compassion and attention to detail
Prepare children and families for surgery through clear, age-appropriate teaching and emotional support
Coordinate with surgical and perioperative teams to ensure safe, efficient patient flow
Verify pre-op orders, consents, and necessary documentation to maintain safe care
Assist with pre-operative medication administration and monitoring as appropriate
Maintain strict infection prevention and safety protocols in the pre-op setting
Document patient care accurately and communicate changes in condition promptly

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse licensure in Washington (required)
Experience or strong background in pre-operative nursing and pediatric care
Comfort working with children and families in a surgical setting
Willingness to complete required orientation and facility-specific onboarding

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in pre-operative assessment and pediatric-focused care
Strong communication skills with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Familiarity with perioperative documentation and safety protocols
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced surgical environment while maintaining compassion
Team-oriented mindset and commitment to patient-centered care
