Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate pre-operative nursing care for pediatric patients
Prepare patients and families for procedures with clear, age-appropriate education
Collaborate with the surgical and perioperative team to ensure safe handoffs
Monitor and document patient status and communicate concerns promptly
Support a calm, child-friendly environment to reduce anxiety and improve outcomes
Participate in orientation and team training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) — active and in good standing
Experience or strong interest in pre-op and pediatric nursing
Comfort working with children and their families in a clinical setting
Willingness to complete required orientation and onboarding

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of pre-operative nursing processes and pediatric needs
Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with children and caregivers
Ability to document accurately and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Calm, organized approach to fast-paced clinical situations
