Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
Assess, monitor and document patients' conditions and respond quickly to changes
Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Educate and support families with clear, empathetic communication
Participate in orientation and support the onboarding of new team members
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and unit documentation
Respond effectively during pediatric emergencies and codes

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
Current BLS and PALS certifications; ACLS preferred
Experience in a PICU or pediatric critical care setting preferred
Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment and communication skills
Ability to complete required health screenings and background checks

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric critical care assessment and monitoring
Familiarity with ventilator management and hemodynamic support
IV therapy, medication administration and infusion pump competency
Proficient electronic medical record documentation
Family-centered care and effective caregiver communication
Emergency response and pediatric resuscitation protocols
