Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients on a cardiopulmonary telemetry and neuro unit
• Monitor and interpret EKGs and telemetry rhythms, intervening promptly when changes occur
• Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, and the care team to implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to protocols
• Assess patients' neurological status and cardiorespiratory function, documenting accurately
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and discharge planning
• Participate in the pass/fail Sim Lab on day one and complete unit orientation
• Float to sister facility as needed to support patient care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or a compact state (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience, with recent experience (within the last 6 months) in telemetry, neuro, or critical care
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must pass the Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam (maximum 2 attempts) prior to acceptance
• Ability to interpret EKGs and manage central telemetry
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of cardiac rhythms and telemetry monitoring
• Competence in assessing and managing neuro patients (CVA, etc.) and pulmonary conditions
• Familiarity with acute care equipment such as Airvo/High Flow
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high-acuity patients
• Flexibility to float and adapt to different units
