Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during procedures to ensure smooth and efficient patient care
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms, maintaining a safe and clean environment
• Take and develop dental X-rays as directed, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
• Maintain patient records and assist with treatment planning documentation
• Provide a welcoming and reassuring presence for patients of all ages

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification or registration as required by Maryland state regulations
• CPR/BLS certification in good standing
• Experience in orthodontics preferred, but enthusiastic newcomers are welcome to apply
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients and team members

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques
• Familiarity with dental software and patient management systems
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Attention to detail and a gentle touch with anxious patients
• Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
