Shift Type: Flexible 4-hour shifts (exact start/end times and days to be confirmed); shift type: Med/Surg (Pediatrics); orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to pediatric med/surg patients
Assess, monitor and document patient conditions accurately and promptly
Administer medications and treatments safely following protocols
Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the care team to coordinate excellent care
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans and discharge instructions
Participate in orientation and training to uphold unit standards and safety

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure — ability to work in Washington
Med/Surg experience and comfort caring for pediatric patients
Current BLS/CPR certification required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
Strong clinical assessment, medication administration and documentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Completion of required hospital orientation and competency training

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of med/surg nursing practices with pediatric considerations
Familiarity with IV therapy, medication administration and common pediatric treatments
Comfortable using electronic health record systems for charting
Excellent communication, critical thinking and time management skills
Teamwork mindset and commitment to patient safety and quality care
