Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to physician orders
• Monitor vital signs and promptly report changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• PALS certification preferred
• Prior pediatric or med/surg nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient assignments

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric assessment and developmentally appropriate care techniques
• IV insertion and medication administration, including IV pump use
• Electronic health records (EHR) documentation
• Effective communication with children, families, and team members
• Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety standards
