Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
• Assist patients with therapeutic activities to enhance daily living skills
• Document patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising OT
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and adaptive techniques
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming therapy environment

Qualifications

• Active Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) certification
• Current New Mexico state license or compact privilege
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Recent clinical experience in a similar setting (preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and evidence-based practices
• Ability to follow and carry out treatment plans accurately
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach
• Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and exercises
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
