Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Monitor and assess hemodynamic status, vital signs, and response to treatments
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced life support as needed
• Collaborate with intensivists and multidisciplinary teams on individualized care plans
• Educate and support patients and families through complex, high-stakes health decisions
• Document patient progress thoroughly and accurately in the EHR

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or compact state license
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• Recent critical care or ICU nursing experience strongly preferred
• Ability to think quickly and stay calm in emergency situations
• Must pass a background check and health screening requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment in fast-paced environments
• Proficiency with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and vasopressor support
• Skilled in IV insertion, central line care, and medication titration
• Comfortable using electronic health records and charting systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with patients, families, and staff
• Knowledge of infection control and sterile technique best practices
