Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during a variety of procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, keeping the treatment area pristine and ready for each patient
• Take and develop dental X-rays, capturing clear images for accurate diagnosis
• Educate patients and their families on proper oral care and post-treatment instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts with treatment details
• Provide a comfortable and reassuring environment for patients of all ages

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent qualification as required in Maryland
• Current X-ray certification
• Experience in orthodontic assisting is a plus
• A warm, patient-friendly demeanor
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with chairside procedures

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental and orthodontic terminology
• Proficiency with dental practice management software
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to work as part of a close-knit team
