Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on a medical-surgical/cardiology unit
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, assess patient conditions, and respond to changes promptly
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring patient safety
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes, recovery plans, and self-care techniques
  • Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with clinical standards

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in Connecticut or valid compact state license
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Prior med-surg or cardiology experience preferred but not required
  • Willingness to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency and Skills Checklist

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
  • Medication administration and IV therapy
  • Electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency
  • Effective communication and patient advocacy
  • Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
