Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-acuity care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, adjusting treatment plans as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care
• Administer medications and interventions safely and effectively
• Support families with education and emotional care during critical times
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in Illinois or a compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Prior ICU nursing experience is highly valued
• Ability to work night shifts and every third weekend
• Willingness to complete health requirements, including COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, influenza vaccine, and TB screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical thinking and rapid assessment skills
• Proficiency with ventilators, IV pumps, and continuous monitoring equipment
• Knowledge of evidence-based protocols for ICU patients
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
