Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem 12.5-hour shifts; exact start/end times and days vary by assignment and will be confirmed with scheduling

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
Assess patients regularly, develop nursing plans, and communicate changes to the care team
Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinicians to coordinate care
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Respond quickly and effectively to patient needs and clinical changes
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact privilege if applicable
Recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtainable
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and communicate clearly
Current immunizations and ability to meet facility health requirements

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills in adult medical-surgical care
Proficiency with medication administration and electronic charting
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital setting
Patient education and discharge planning skills
Time management and organization for 12+ hour shifts
