Physical Therapist - Acute Care
Location: Redwood City, California
Start Date: 06-08-2026
End Date: 09-07-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with varied start times between 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM and end times between 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM; occasional weekend shifts required with a weekday off in exchange
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional physical therapy care to acute care patients across med-surg, tele, ICU, oncology, and cardiology units
- Provide specialized therapy for ventilated patients in the ICU
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient recovery and mobility
- Manage a diverse caseload including ortho and total joint patients
- Support patients through every stage of their hospital journey with compassionate, hands-on care
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist license in California
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of acute care physical therapy experience
- Strong background in ortho, total joints, ICU, and ventilated patient care
- Comfortable working with a wide range of patient populations including med-surg, oncology, and cardiac surgery
Knowledge & Skills
- Cerner EMR proficiency
- Acute care physical therapy expertise
- Experience with ventilated and ICU patients
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and work independently
