Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable patient experience
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory rooms, maintaining the highest standards of infection control
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, braces care, and post-treatment instructions
• Manage patient records, charting treatment details, and updating medical histories
• Provide exceptional patient support, answering questions and easing dental anxieties

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state-specific certification preferred
• Current X-ray certification and experience taking dental radiographs
• Experience working in orthodontics or a dental specialty setting is preferred
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, patient-focused demeanor
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with chairside procedures

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and sterilization techniques
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Denticon) is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Team collaboration and ability to follow instructions efficiently
• Compassionate patient care and chairside manner
