Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable patient experience
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory rooms, maintaining the highest standards of infection control
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, braces care, and post-treatment instructions
- Manage patient records, charting treatment details, and updating medical histories
- Provide exceptional patient support, answering questions and easing dental anxieties
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state-specific certification preferred
- Current X-ray certification and experience taking dental radiographs
- Experience working in orthodontics or a dental specialty setting is preferred
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, patient-focused demeanor
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with chairside procedures
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and sterilization techniques
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Denticon) is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Team collaboration and ability to follow instructions efficiently
- Compassionate patient care and chairside manner
