Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following strict infection control protocols
• Take and develop dental X-rays and panoramic images with precision
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care for braces and aligners
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans
• Manage appointment scheduling and ensure smooth patient flow

Qualifications

• Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification required
• Radiography (X-ray) certification as required by Maryland state regulations
• Previous experience in an orthodontic or dental setting is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures
• Proficiency in dental software and appointment scheduling systems
• Excellent attention to detail and infection control practices
• Outstanding patient care and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
• Manual dexterity and comfort handling delicate instruments
