Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist with a variety of procedures, ensuring each patient feels comfortable and cared for
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain the highest standards of safety
• Take and develop dental x-rays, capturing clear images for accurate diagnosis
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care for braces and aligners
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling
• Work closely with the dental team to create a positive, welcoming environment

Qualifications

• Certified or registered dental assistant (CDA/RDA) is strongly preferred
• X-ray certification (if required by Maryland state)
• Previous experience in orthodontics or dental assisting is a plus
• A caring, patient-focused attitude with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
• Familiarity with dental software such as Denticon
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate patient records
• Compassionate communication with patients of all ages
