Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal therapy to maintain patient oral health.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
• Take and develop dental X-rays to assist in diagnosis.
• Assist the dentist during procedures by providing instrument support and patient care.
• Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records.
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in the state of Virginia (or compact eligibility)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a dental team
• Experience with dental software is a plus
• New graduates are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and techniques
• Proficiency in dental radiography (X-rays)
• Understanding of infection control and OSHA standards
• Excellent patient education and communication skills
• Ability to maintain accurate patient records
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
