Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Night shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Per Diem; schedule varies)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care to geriatric residents and brighten their day
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and report observations promptly
- Support safe mobility and fall prevention with careful transfers and ambulation assistance
- Collaborate with the nursing team to implement individualized care plans
- Document care accurately and maintain resident dignity, privacy, and comfort
Qualifications
- GNA certification required
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and best practices
- Skill in assisting with activities of daily living and safe resident handling
- Strong observational skills to notice changes in condition
- Basic documentation and charting proficiency
- Team player who works well with nurses, therapists, and families
