Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily living assistance to geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting while promoting independence
• Measure and record vital signs, reporting any changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe mobility and fall-prevention efforts during transfers and ambulation
• Document resident care accurately and timely in the facility record system
• Engage residents in social and therapeutic activities to promote wellbeing
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies consistently
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and the care team

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
• Eligible to work in Maryland and meet any state registration requirements
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited GNA program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Skilled at taking and documenting vital signs and observations
• Knowledge of safe transfer and positioning techniques
• Understanding of infection control and basic safety procedures
• Clear documentation and reporting skills
• Teamwork, time management, and resident-centered care approach
