Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare endoscopy suites with sterilized equipment and supplies
- Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures with specimen collection and patient positioning
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide reassurance before, during, and after procedures
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain endoscopes according to infection control standards
- Document procedure details accurately and maintain inventory of endoscopic tools
- Educate patients on preparation and aftercare to ensure a smooth experience
Qualifications
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Proven experience as an Endoscopy Technician or similar role
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection prevention
- Ability to stand, lift, and assist with patient transport
- Willingness to comply with facility health requirements, including immunizations and drug screening
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of endoscopic equipment and reprocessing protocols
- Familiarity with patient monitoring and vital sign assessment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail in documentation and specimen handling
- Adaptability to different clinical environments and procedures
