Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting
• Assess patient conditions, triage effectively, and prioritize care based on acuity
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions safely
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to create and adjust care plans
• Monitor patients closely and respond quickly to changes in vital signs or status
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or a compact state (license verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current TNCC and NIHSS certifications
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Specialty Competency Testing
• Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen, background check, and health screening
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required (or approved exemption)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-pressure situations
• Comfort with electronic health records and documentation
• Knowledge of emergency and trauma nursing best practices
• Adaptability and calm demeanor during rapid changes
