Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory care to patients across critical and acute care settings
• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and respond to changes quickly
• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered by physicians
• Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and the care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold strict safety standards
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and home management

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Iowa (or ability to obtain one)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Completion of specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklist
• Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen and background check
• Up-to-date health requirements including immunizations and fit test

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of respiratory therapy modalities and equipment
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekends
