Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical cardiac procedures, from pre-op through recovery
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and post-operative status, responding quickly to changes
• Administer medications, titrate cardiac drips, and manage cardiac devices as ordered
• Collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, and the care team to create and adjust individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on recovery, medications, and lifestyle changes
• Maintain thorough, accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact multi-state license, with license verification completed
• Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
• Prior experience in cardiac surgical, critical care, or telemetry nursing is a plus
• Ability to commit to night shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday
• Strong clinical judgement and ability to thrive in a fast-paced cardiac unit

• Cardiac assessment and rhythm interpretation
