Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and polish teeth to help patients maintain optimal oral health
• Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and nutrition to promote good oral hygiene habits
• Take and develop digital dental X-rays as needed for diagnostic purposes
• Document patient care, update health histories, and assist the dentist during procedures
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Excellent patient communication and customer service skills
• Experience with dental software and digital radiography is a plus
• A compassionate, detail-oriented approach to patient care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental anatomy and periodontal disease
• Proficiency with dental instruments and X-ray equipment
• Understanding of HIPAA and infection control standards
• Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with patients
• Attention to detail in documentation and patient records
