Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis for patients
• Collect and document patient medical histories and oral health information
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Assist the dentist with procedures and maintain a clean, organized operatory
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Dental Hygienist license
• Dental Hygiene certification from an accredited program
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dental team

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with dental instruments and ultrasonic scalers
• Understanding of periodontal disease and preventive dentistry
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems
• Strong attention to detail and infection control standards
