Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
• Assist nursing staff with tasks such as vital signs, hygiene care, and mobility support
• Document resident care accurately and promptly in the assigned system
• Communicate changes in resident condition to the nursing team and leadership
• Support a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Build positive rapport with residents and families to enhance patient-centered care
• Follow infection control procedures and facility policies to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in the state of Alabama
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Comfortable assisting with transfers and basic mobility (proper lifting training provided)
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous long-term care or acute care experience is a plus but not always required

Education

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and ADL assistance
• Familiarity with infection prevention best practices
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Good documentation and basic computer/data entry skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare setting and prioritizing tasks
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
