Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist to help residents regain independence
- Provide focused therapy on activities of daily living, mobility, and functional tasks
- Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and meaningful functional activities
- Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Maintain accurate and timely therapy documentation to support quality care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to create cohesive recovery plans
- Educate residents on safe techniques and adaptive strategies for daily living
Qualifications
- Active California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
- Associate Degree from an accredited COTA program
- Previous SNF, rehabilitation, or geriatric therapy experience preferred
- Strong patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Education
- Associate Degree from an accredited COTA program
Knowledge & Skills
- ADL training and functional rehabilitation techniques
- Patient monitoring and strong observation skills
- Effective communication and therapy documentation abilities
- Ability to collaborate with nursing and rehab teams for coordinated care
- Hands-on experience supporting mobility and independence goals
