Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist to help residents regain independence
• Provide focused therapy on activities of daily living, mobility, and functional tasks
• Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and meaningful functional activities
• Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Maintain accurate and timely therapy documentation to support quality care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to create cohesive recovery plans
• Educate residents on safe techniques and adaptive strategies for daily living

Qualifications

• Active California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
• Associate Degree from an accredited COTA program
• Previous SNF, rehabilitation, or geriatric therapy experience preferred
• Strong patient care and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited COTA program

Knowledge & Skills

• ADL training and functional rehabilitation techniques
• Patient monitoring and strong observation skills
• Effective communication and therapy documentation abilities
• Ability to collaborate with nursing and rehab teams for coordinated care
• Hands-on experience supporting mobility and independence goals
