Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients, including post-operative burn and flap patients
• Perform thorough assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient progress throughout the shift
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCTs, and charge nurses to create a safe, patient-centered care environment
• Deliver specialized wound, ostomy, and dressing care using wound vacs and other advanced equipment
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and self-care strategies
• Document all care accurately and timely in the Meditech EMR system

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital Med/Surg experience required
• Active BLS certification required
• Active RN license in Colorado or compact state, or ability to obtain before start
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Preferred: Burn care, wound care, ostomy care experience, and ACLS certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR
• Knowledge of wound vacs, PCA pumps, and Hoyer lifts
• Ability to adapt quickly to a new unit culture
• Excellent patient education and collaboration skills
• Resilience and flexibility for a fast-paced Med/Surg environment
