Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR suite and maintain a sterile field for a variety of surgical cases
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures
• Manage surgical specimens and ensure accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments
• Support a busy OR performing open heart, orthopedic, and multiple medical surgeries
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure smooth, efficient case flow
• Uphold all safety, infection control, and EPIC documentation standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a busy operating room department
• Active BLS certification
• DCI/BVP certification as required
• EPIC experience is a must
• Availability for rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
• Willingness to take call: one night every 2 weeks and one weekend every 6 weeks

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and OR protocols
• Proficiency with EPIC EHR system
• Experience across open heart, orthopedic, and general surgical cases
• Excellent teamwork and communication in high-pressure environments
• Ability to adapt to extended hours based on surgical case load
• Organizational skills to manage instrumentation and supplies efficiently
