Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform surgical scrubbing for complex cardiac procedures as a single scrub
• Assist in the main OR on lighter cardiac days across ortho, neuro, vascular, robotics, urology, general, and gynecology surgeries
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready for each surgery
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and safe operations
• Utilize Cerner charting to document surgical procedures accurately

Qualifications

• Active BLS Certification (required)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA (required)
• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience
• Ability to single scrub cardiac surgeries
• Experience in a cardiovascular OR setting preferred
• Willingness to float to the main OR as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, and sterile technique
• Skilled in CVOR procedures, including cardiac and vascular surgery
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and procedure types
