RN (Registered Nurse) - Med/Surg Swing Bed
Location: Schuyler, Nebraska
Start Date: 08-03-2026
End Date: 11-02-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays, self-scheduling
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate nursing care to adult, geriatric, and occasional pediatric patients in a 10-bed Med/Surg Swing Unit
- Administer IV antibiotics, wound care, and therapy as ordered
- Monitor patients with conditions like diabetes, pancreatitis, and pneumonia
- Collaborate with a close-knit team to ensure the best outcomes
- Float to the ED when needed to support surge volumes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nebraska or compact license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- Valid driver's license (required for submittal)
- Willingness to comply with fingernail policy (no artificial nails)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently in a small unit
- Adaptability to float to the ED if needed
- Proficient in IV therapy, wound care, and telemetry monitoring
