Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess progressive care patients, intervening quickly when conditions change
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, with a focus on safety and comfort
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the broader care team to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and self-care
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all equipment, like telemetry monitors, is functioning properly
• Respond to emergencies and escalate concerns to keep every patient stable and cared for

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Michigan (or valid compact license)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Previous progressive care, step-down, or telemetry experience preferred
• Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen and background check

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) documentation
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced unit
