Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients as they recover from surgery and procedures
• Monitor vital signs, level of consciousness, and pain levels, intervening promptly to ensure patient safety
• Collaborate with the anesthesia and surgical teams to manage immediate post-operative complications
• Educate families on post-procedure care and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, medications, and patient outcomes accurately
• Maintain a calm, reassuring environment for children and their families during recovery

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a compact state
• BLS certification required; PALS certification strongly preferred
• Previous PACU, critical care, or pediatrics experience preferred
• Ability to respond quickly and calmly in high-pressure situations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of pediatric anesthesia recovery protocols
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)
