Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients during surgical procedures
• Assist the surgical team by preparing the OR, maintaining sterile fields, and ensuring safety protocols
• Monitor patients' vitals, anesthesia, and recovery status throughout the perioperative process
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses to deliver seamless patient care
• Educate and comfort patients and families, helping them feel at ease before and after surgery
• Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license in Ohio (or compact license where applicable)
• BLS certification required; PALS strongly preferred
• At least 1 year of OR nursing experience preferred; pediatric experience a plus
• Ability to scrub and circulate required for this role
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and AORN guidelines
• Strong sterile technique and surgical safety practices
• Familiarity with pediatric surgical equipment and instruments
• Effective communication and emotional support skills for pediatric patients and families
• Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced surgical environments
