Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to medical-surgical patients with empathy and expertise
• Monitor patient vitals, symptoms, and progress, and respond quickly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to create and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts including every other weekend
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Skill in using electronic health records and medical equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stay calm and focused in fast-paced situations
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
• Team player who can also work independently
