Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Continuously assess and monitor patient status, responding quickly to changes
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and perform life-saving interventions
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans
• Document patient progress accurately and communicate effectively with families
• Float across ICU units as part of the flex pool, bringing stability wherever needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
• ICU experience preferred, with a passion for critical care
• Ability to commit to a 6-month assignment including nights and weekends
• Willingness to complete Trinity-specific competency testing and skills checklist
• Meet personal health history requirements, including immunizations and fit test

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills in high-acuity settings
• In-depth knowledge of ICU protocols, ventilators, and critical care medications
• Comfortable with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Adaptability and flexibility to float across different ICU units
• Excellent communication and teamwork during high-pressure situations
