Respiratory Therapist - RT
Location: Port Huron, Michigan

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 6:30 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and chest physiotherapy
- Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators for critically ill patients
- Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpret results to adjust therapy
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care
Qualifications
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in Michigan
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of respiratory physiology and pathophysiology
- Proficiency in ventilator management and troubleshooting
- Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Effective communication skills for patient and family education
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
