Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients' respiratory status and develop individualized care plans
• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen, nebulized medications, and ventilator management
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust therapies as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapists to optimize patient recovery
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health and home care techniques
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the medical record

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist licensure in Illinois (or eligibility to obtain)
• RRT or CRT credential required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Previous experience in acute care, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing preferred
• Strong patient assessment and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Working knowledge of respiratory therapy modalities and equipment
• Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
• Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
